Patient: Richard
Patient presents with recurrent decay beneath composite. Gingivectomy - with minimal bleeding - performed using Waterlase MD to expose decayed area. Waterlase MD used to perform remove existing composite cavity prep and restoration. No shot, no drill used. Patient reports no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.

1:00-1:30pm
Patient: Laurie
Patient presents with decay on #9. Patient states, "...Would never go to a dentist who used a needle..." Gingivectomy - with minimal bleeding - performed using Waterlase MD to expose proximal decayed area. Waterlase MD used to perform remove decay. No shot, no drill used. Patient reports no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.
3–3:30 pm
Patient: Shane
Waterlase MD used on pediatric patient to etch molars in all 4 quadrants in preparation of placement of sealant and to remove existing caries. Waterlase MD laser settings: 2.5 watts, hard tissue mode, 20% water, 40% air, 40 pulses/sec. No shot used with patient. Patient reported no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.
May 5 (Sat)

Patient: Jessica
Cosmetic crown lengthening to correct a “gummy” smile, and frenectomy to release constrictive frenum. Topical anesthetic only used. Minimal bleeding during gingivectomy and frenectomy. Waterlase MD laser settings: 1.0 watts, soft tissue mode, 5% water, 10% air, 35-50 pulses/sec. No shot used with patient. Patient reported no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.

Patient: Carolyn
Patient presents with decay at the gingival margin. Waterlase MD is used to expose decay at the gingival margin. Waterlase MD laser settings: 1.0 watts, soft tissue mode, 1% water, 10% air, 40 pulses/sec. Minimal bleeding. Waterlase MD is then used to remove decay. Waterlase MD laser settings: 2.5 watts, hard tissue mode, 20% water, 40% air, 40 pulses/sec. No shot used with patient. Topical only used. Patient reported no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.
3–3:30 pm
Patient: Tiffany
Patient presents with decay on tooth #12. Waterlase MD is then used to remove decay in two locations on the tooth. Waterlase MD™ laser settings: 4.0 watts, soft tissue mode, 20% water, 40% air, 15 pulses/sec., with Z-6 tip. Final dentin cleaning, surface preparation and outline form completed at 2.75 W. Patient reported no pain or discomfort. (NOTE: A noise heard during the procedure was the high-speed suction against the patient’s cheek, and not a patient reaction to the procedure.)
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.

Patient: Tiffany
Patient presents with an MO on #4. Waterlase MD is used to perform this Class II. Waterlase MD™ laser settings: 3.75 watts, hard tissue mode, 20% water, 40% air, 15 pulses/sec., with Z-6 tip. Patient reported no pain or discomfort.
This patient was NOT given a local anesthetic.
