BIOLASE Announces First Time Epic Hygiene Trial with Selected Dental Practice from 123Dentist Network in Canada

By BIOLASE

Last month Dr. Jordan Pettigrew & Associates in Ottawa, Canada was selected by 123Dentist, a Canadian-based dental support organization to take part in a 30-day BIOLASE Epic Hygiene Trial Program. The practice put to the test two Epic Hygiene diode lasers to showcase patient’s receptiveness and learn how laser technology can help grow their practice. This was the first time an Epic Hygiene laser trial was conducted in Canada and was done in concert with BIOLASE’s Canadian Distributor, Sinclair Dental.

The certification course included topics on laser physics, patient communication, billing and coding, and three hours of hands-on clinical training and was conducted by Beth Parkes, RDH, BSc, Educational Director, Speaker, and Quality Assurance Coach at RDHU Inc. with fifteen years of industry experience.

“We are truly thankful to the BIOLASE team for taking the time to come and coach my team on diode laser technology. We are so excited about this new opportunity and look forward to continue learning and growing as a practice and for our patients!”

“The use of lasers in dentistry is a fast-growing and exciting technological advancement available to us to add to our armamentarium shared Parkes. With the alarmingly high incidence of Periodontal disease, it is time to make a change and think outside the box. As Dental Hygienists, we have the opportunity to use lasers as an adjunct to our scaling and root planning to advance outcomes of our periodontal programs. The diode laser provides us with superior treatment options, as with it, we have the tool we need to specifically target and destroy the keystone pathogens leading to periodontal breakdown while delaying their recolonization. The laser improves results for patients and sets the practice apart while providing an impressive return on investment,” said Mrs. Parkes.

Dr. Pettigrew and 123Dentist believe in providing the best care and solutions for their patients, and by implementing laser technology they are committed to that promise. “This was an amazing experience! We are so fortunate to have this opportunity. The BIOLASE team made us feel so confident and walked us through the process step by step,” shared Syndi Marquette, Office Manager and Dental Hygienist at Dr. Pettigrew & Associates.

“We are truly thankful to the BIOLASE team for taking the time to come and coach my team on diode laser technology. We are so excited about this new opportunity and look forward to continue learning and growing as a practice and for our patients,” shared Amy Fudge, Regional Manager at 123Dentist.
